This 1998-99 school year shows a substantial increase in teaching staff in our schools. Visiting the Board of Education meeting at Monticello Middle School Monday 9/14, there seems to be a serious commitment of staff to fix problems with elementary and middle school non-academic performance. Elementary students' passing and failing criteria are being discussed openly as thoughts and solutions are evolving. This is satisfying in light of past practices of the Board sharing a solution after it has been finalized and no longer changeable. |
