2929 Washington Boulevard (1980)

The present owners date this Tudor style home to 1928, but its architect and date of first sale are unknown.

Few things inside the house are bought; most were made by the owners, Saul and Mia Isler. Mr. Isler has written about his carpentry projects in a weekly Plain Dealer column titled "The Woodbutcher." Mrs. Isler, who is Swedish, has made several stained glass pieces for their home, in addition to sewing, painting, papering, and tiling. This house is an on-going do-it-yourself project for its owners, who have managed their resources skillfully, imaginatively, and efficiently.
