3051 North Park Blvd. (1979, 1986)

Extensively redesigned in 1945 by George Burrows for F. C. Wellman, this building was once the coach house or stable of the Allyne estate, whose main building faced the intersection of Woodland and North Park and was demolished in 1963-4. The original estate was designed by Harlen Shimmin and is reputed to be identical to one Allyne had designed as his winter home in Palm Beach, Florida.

The former stable features interior moldings, hardware and library paneling taken at the time of its remodeling from the Van Sweringen estate at Daisy Hill Farm. The laundry of the present house was probably a harness or mechanics room; the billiard room was one of the three carriage bays which extended to the south wall of the guest room. The second floor bedroom, bath and studio were added in 1978-9.
